It does not begin with choice. The alcoholic cannot differentiate between the true & the false. It's a 3 fold illness; mental, physical and spiritual. An alcoholic has physical allergy to alcohol. Please read the Doctors Opinion in the book Alcoholics Annonomous. I always told myself I was going in the bar for a couple (that's the lie I told myself). Never once had a couple. If I was able to tell myself the truth, I would have thought, I'll go in the bar, have about 12 beers then about 10 gin & tonics and wake up god knows where. |

Whoever is serving you that 22nd drink of the night is doing no one a favor.

Due to your selflessly taking one on the chin/liver, I sure hope there's a lot of less-than-attractive women out there who wouldn't otherwise achieve sexual satisfaction.
If that's the case -- you're kinda giving. There's no reason to push past that coolly buzzed zone...unless you're out to nail an ugly chick and feel really good about it. 22 drinks...and I'd probably hit on Vol Jack in a whig. |
