my girlfriend (unhappily) is an alcoholic and it's a nightmare....she comes from a whole family of boozers and she literally turns into a monster when she drinks...it's like jekyll and hyde...can't tell you how many times i have been unable to drag her out of a bar or away from a bottle at 3am only to be berated by insults or having random objects thrown at me for trying to get her on track...next morning rules around with things and shambles and she doesn't even acknowledge anything happened....
it's downright scary how alcohol makes people and until you are around someone who cannot control themselves you would never know...
