I rated him the best 2-year-old of the 80's - a decade of many super 2yo's - and the 2nd best 3yo of the 80's behind Sunday Silence.

Sunday Silence didn't do much at age 2 - and his edge over Easy Goer at age 3 was razor thin because of the head-to-head matches where he was able to exploit his tactical superiority while Easy Goer was picking the wrong races to break poorly, race erratically, and make pre-mature moves.

I think even Sunday Silence's biggest fans will admit Easy Goer should be rated higher when you take the entire career into consideration - and not just the 3yo season.

I didn't say I disagreed with you. I'm just surprised you made a correct assessment for a change.

....oh there are just too many that raced in the last 5 years that are overrated. Almost all of these are champions of high class, but in the context of a "top 250 all time" they just don't measure up.

I'd rate Zenyatta maybe a 7, and Blind Luck, probably a 5.5 or 6.

I can think of too many fillies/mares that would have embarrassed either of those two on dirt.

Im really not sure how Blind Luck can be that close to Z. I know she traveled around, and raced in most of the big races and all, but its not enough for me. At best, like said above she was a good 3yr old filly, who has already came back to get beat this year. If Z is a 10 BL is a 5. If Z is a 7, BL is a 2.
