raise my hand again

What about an illegal up in Chicago who has no insurance gets shot and shows up at an emergency room?

Last time for now

How about an American citizen who refuses to get insured, pays the penalty and is shot by the illegal above after he gets released, from the hospital, for cab fare?

I got a million more at least.

Repeal Now!!!!!
Since Massachusetts has had "virtually the same thing up and running" for 4 years, I'd like to answer you Dell.

1. The jobless ex-inmate will be covered by either MassHealth (if he is getting welfare or under 19) or Commonwealth Care (if he is over 19 but low or no income). Both of which are paid by the Massachusetts taxpayer.

2. The illegal's bill will be covered by Healthnet (= the Mass taxpayer).

3. The Massachusetts citizen will be fined for not having health insurance.

What these 4 years of mandatory health insurance have provided for the working taxpayer in Massachusetts is higher taxes.
Taxes have increased (sales tax was increased by 1.25%) and property taxes have increased due to budget cuts to towns. The state needs more money to cover MassHealth, Commonwealth Care, and Healthnet.
