That's not too clear on their website. What it says is that DRF and NTRA will determine whether you are eligible for the NHC. Somehow I can't see them determining that a person is eligible, if they didn't pay the 50 bucks to join. Also, the rules indicate that there is a Grand Prize which is getting to go to the NHC championship and an alternative Grand Prize(for those that don't qualify for the Grand Prize) which is airline tickets and accommodations to go to Del Mar on the closing weekend which is Labor Day weekend. In my case, it probably doesn't matter, usually, the leaders are a couple of grand ahead of me after the first week.
