The winner gets to go to NHC championship, and a tour membership isn't required from what I understand after contacting Del Mar.

That's not too clear on their website. What it says is that DRF and NTRA will determine whether you are eligible for the NHC. Somehow I can't see them determining that a person is eligible, if they didn't pay the 50 bucks to join. Also, the rules indicate that there is a Grand Prize which is getting to go to the NHC championship and an alternative Grand Prize(for those that don't qualify for the Grand Prize) which is airline tickets and accommodations to go to Del Mar on the closing weekend which is Labor Day weekend. In my case, it probably doesn't matter, usually, the leaders are a couple of grand ahead of me after the first week.:(:D

Looks like I was only about a week early. What a dunce. Oh well, everyone should have had plenty of early warning that it is starting. I need plenty, I forget to play most of the contests I sign up for. Maybe I'll remember this one.:D

Looks like you have what "they" like to refer to as "TMCS".

I'm not proud, I'll take any excuse I can to explain my "wobble-headedness,":D but the truth is, I don't play in nearly as many contests as you and Bigrun, McClem, Casp and others. You guys play in an amazing number of contests. I really am not very good at analyzing a large number of races(and some would say a small number too).

I get it now. You can win the contest without being a member, but after winning, then you have to join the tour.

Well I never said I didn't suffer from it as well :D

"Yes", I do play in a lot, but it's a hobby and it helps in keeping me learning something about this game all the time. Although I am far, far from being in the "Big Time Players" league, I have that goal always in front of me and maybe by the time I reach 80, I will have reached it :)

I do get burnt out of course at times, but if I didn't do this, my life would be pretty boring, not to mention my house would be even more spotless than it already is.

My wife bought one of those Roombas the other day. I think she was trying to tell me that my housekeeping skills are sadly lacking. Anyway, a man came to our door yesterday soliciting his tree service. The Roomba was next to the door on it's charging station. I accidentally hit it with my foot when I opened the door. It went around the room a few times and then went back and got on its charging station. Nice having helpful machines, but getting kinda scary when your vacuum cleaner is smart enough to plug itself back in.

I'm going with Texas Ryano in the Oceanside...

I'm thinking I might go with a show bet to give me some confidence, as I don't want to start off in negative numbers.

As the contest goes further, I realize I need some straight $100 win bets.

Thanks for the notice CAL. Got signed up, entered as a "serious player", and made my Thursday picks.

Did anyone start a "friends" group at the DM site for DT folks?

Good Luck to Everyone and thanks again.
