It was in context. That's kinda the whole point. Quote:

The statement that the mixed-race son of a poor single mother, left with his grandparents, who worked and got into Columbia, then Harvard, became and worked as a lawyer, then got involved in state politics, then was elected Senator, then President of the United States, "never really had to work" is beyond absurd and laughable.[/quote] Do you have a private sector employment history that shows if the President didn't make any money for his company that week he didn't get paid. Don't take things out of context, I said work to EARN. It takes work to go to school and write books but neither of those is like making payroll for 22 people when your company didn't have a good month or quarter. Supplying the entire quote for the 2-3 people that haven't heard it in its entirety will soften the blow but it still shows that this President is clueless when it comes to understanding common business and economics.

If you want to look at someone who was gifted, geeshus, look at Romney. He never started from scratch. The toughest period in his life, according to his wife, was when they were "poor" in school, and they had to live off stock income! He never made any product. But he still "worked" in my view.

Never said anything about Romney as I do not care much for him either, he is a silver spooner. This is about the President not understanding reality and what people (real people not "public servants" or academia) need to do to survive and what really drives the economy of the country.

Saying this president - love him or hate him - doesn't understand what "real people" need to do to survive is simply absurd and doesn't stand up to the reality.

![]() Apparently being poor, growing up in a single-family home with no father, being left by your mother to grow up with your grandparents, have to work to get into college, work to get into law school, work to become president of Harvard Law Review, work to earn money to buy a house and raise a family, doesn't count if you're Barack Obama.
I am sick of the haters and Faux News outright lying about this President, what he says, what he does. No president in my lifetime has been disrespected, lied about and hated like this, and that includes Bush the Younger. You can go back and see how Abraham Lincoln was treated like this - which provides an interesting context for Obama's treatment. And any American citizen who cares about this country ought to be sick of the lies, too. Judge them all on the truth, on what they actually do, actually say. Not manufactured, made-up birther conspiracy nonsense bull.sh.i.a.t.
