But then he takes that money. For high-speed rail. Or to balance his repeatedly overdrawn budget (while he credits his own self for that and campaigns upon it)

And it is "the feds" money, because our Constitution gives us the power to collect taxes for our common good. "Largesse" is a strange choice of words. We live in a cooperative society, that we agree to all contribute towards financially. It is one of the major differences between the articles we had before the Constitution, and what they fine-tuned the Constitution to include.
Is every topic going to lead to you knocking Perry now? I guess you ran out of Palin material?

I don't remember agreeing to contribute financially to society.

Palin is an idiot, she's done. Barely hanging on to trying to be a celebrity now that Rupert has no interest left in her. Perry I find dangerous due to the Dominionist connection (see the preachers present at his recent prayer meeting). I won't vote for someone who thinks his god comes before my country. That's Perry, Bachmann, Palin.

You agree to spend when we elect officials to office. A challenge to the IRS years ago determined that you have to still pay taxes, even if you don't like everything the government does

we agree to spend because we elect officials? lol not quite...but if that is the case, then we should have the option to keep an office vacant to avoid poor financial decisions by pols.
i think your logic here is flawed. our govt is supposed to be of, for, by...they are supposed to be good stewards of our resources. they are not supposed to be people who rule over us with heavy hands, telling the little people that they know best.

I'll be more pleased if he actually does allow more drilling, in addition to the pipelines, AND increase our refining capacity, AND get the drilling back in the gulf.

I'll be ecstatic if he gets drilling in ANWR.

More U.S. oil, less imports.

Sources of U.S. Oil Imports

Each day, the U.S. uses about 21 million barrels of oil- more than any other country in the world.

It imports about 58% of it. Here’s where we get the oil.

11% Canada
11 Mexico
9 Saudi Arabia
8 Venezuela
7 Nigeria
4 Iraq
8 25 other countries

Exactly why I will probably never vote Republican again
