![]() 10% of income should not really be considered "record profits". The dollar amounts are higher because the volume is higher because the population is bigger. The actual rate of income is about the same as it has always been. At least they pay taxes (maybe not their "fair share") unlike O's boy Immelt.
Record profits should be based on percentage of income, that is how you know if someone is robbing the country. Whenever anyone discusses numbers here they use the convenient factor, be it % or $ to make their point.

One potential complication: Obama has spent far less time on vacation than his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, had at this point in his presidency. Veteran CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, a fastidious keeper of presidential statistics, has kept count. By his tally, Obama has embarked on nine “vacations” since taking office, bringing his total days off to 48. Some of those trips lasted a day and some, like his Christmas holiday in Hawaii, more than a week. By comparison, Bush had visited his ranch in Crawford, Tex., 14 times at this point in his administration and spent 115 days there http://blogs.ajc.com/cynthia-tucker/...han-bush-took/

Its so ridiculous that this vacation thing is a big deal for either Obama or Bush. Its not like they are unreachable. And I'm sorry, but every person deserves some R&R, whether you are the president or not.

![]() George W. Bush was criticized for spending nearly 500 days at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, during his two terms in office. He was there in August 2001 when he received a CIA briefing paper warning of al-Qaida's intentions to strike the United States — about a month before the Sept. 11 attacks would occur. In 2005, he remained on vacation after Hurricane Katrina swamped New Orleans and devastated the Gulf Coast. His presidency suffered from his response to the storm and his decision to not immediately return to Washington. What's that work out to, 1 1/3 years out of 8 on vacation...something like that...

![]() The only thing I'd say regarding this "vacation" thing is that Bush almost solely went on vacation to his home in Texas whilst Obama tends to galavant to far away lands. That being said, it's truly a stupid argument as any man with relatively small children should be able to go on a vacation here and there.
