It's not like the government is handing it out or anything

You have to be insured with a private insurer, and it is part of the new lower preventive health care stuff that the ACA is trying to institute. No copay for birth control (and other preventive cares) so patients will actually have no excuse to do it. Remember when insurance companies wouldn't ever pay for screening mammograms? And many don't want to pay for a screening colonoscopy? Same idea.
