While I'm certainly not "happy" about the verdict. I have followed this case closely. The fact is, the jury probably got it MOSTLY right. The State did not "prove beyond any reasonable doubt" as far as Murder 1. The chloroform evidence was sketchy at best. ( the car was cleaned with cleaning products ).The "smelling" evidence was even sketchier ( first time in a court ). The stain in the trunk was like the Virgin Mary on grilled cheese which sold on eBay and bought by Golden Nugget. Everybody lied, from the cops, the scientists, to Kronk, to her Mom and Dad and Brother. George Anthony was VERY suspicious on the stand, being argumentative with Baez, etc. Why did he not fall on the sword for Casey? It's his daughter! The duct tape could have easily come from them tying the bags closed when disposing of little Caylee - remember the pets being buried the same way. The prosecutor Ashton certainly didn't help with his smug grins throughout the trial. There were several people who knew where the body was months before they actually "found" her. If they would have found Caylee in August when Kronk first called it in but was blown off by the fat cop because he slipped on mud on the way down and blamed it on Kronk, then much more evidence would have been available. He got fired

You also have to remember, the jury was sequestered for 6+ weeks. They didn't get to hear all the media coverage. I'm sure they wanted to get a verdict quickly. Going with Not Guilty was a lot easier than putting her to death on the evidence they got to see.

Do I feel that something illegal happened? Absolutely.

Just goes to show that being hot and being a young white female can go a long way.
