Freddy, have you even been there? Perhaps I just got lucky and caught them on a particularly great evening, but thought the food was some of the best Italian cuisine I've ever had... |

The best restaurant in my lifetime in Saratoga was Italian.....Sam's Diner on Rt. 9 South just below Exit 13 on the Northway. In the 80s, Sam's was as good as it gets anywhere....from food to ambiance. The best. The diner eventually became Chez Sophie.

![]() Best wop food I ever had was a place called Rosa's, in Baldwin Park, semi near Santa Anita. The chef/owner used to be the personal chef for JFK and Anwar Sadat.
Not only was the food awesome, but it was this fancy dress up place with waiters in Tuxedos, that was situated on top of the Royal Knight motel, a motel with hourly rates for the local hookers. A very rundown area, lots of graffiti and crime, located about 25 feet off of the I-10. Baldwin Park is nasty. It was a surreal experience. |
