You mean common sense like knowing that in America each citzen is already independent and equal? Or common sense that spending isn't to get one "out of bankruptcy", it's to get one out of "recession", which are two entirely different things?

And if each citizen is already indepedent and equal why the need to subsidize health insurance?

Precisely because people are equal. You think about that for a while. You might be able to figure it out.

Meanwhile, make a list of every luxury you enjoy simply because society in the form of government banding together to benefit all of us is what we do as Americans.

Start with affordable potable water.

i have a well. i don't know that i have that because of society.

Potable, constantly available water coming out of a tap is indeed a luxury in my book, not possessed by most in the world. And for most (not on wells, obviously) it is arriving due to citizens empowering the government.

Does your well-water catch fire?
