Yeah, the only horses who generally Beyer 100+ at first asking end up being garbage pales like Curlin, Quality Road, Discreet Cat, Chilukki, and Formal Gold.

Anecdotes are not evidence (ask the FDA). Show me population figures. Didn't say NONE become graded stakes horses, only that not every freaking one of them did, maybe not even half of them. It would be interesting to see what the real fraction is, so that we could pitch our expectations appropriately.

The point is, no one's freaking out and saying Bind is the next Secretariat/Zenyatta, a Triple Crown lock or that they should start smelting his HOF statue already. All anyone has said is that it was an extremely impressive debut, and for some reason, that was enough for you to feel the need to come in the thread and start wagging your finger at people.

I would wager that there is a very strong connection between debuting high BSF's and graded winners, otherwise people wouldnt rush to Calder or Thistledowns etc. to grab up any Mdn Spl winners that runs an 80plus fig.

There was this trainer named Frankel who prospected the nations to bit tracks buying up debut winners with big BSF's. Frankel realized that if they ran fast once they would most likely run fast again. So he bought these types for Mr Gann and they had a wonder results.

I would bet that at least 50% of all horses that debut with BSF of 100 or better go one to win at least a G3 race
