Clearly there is a vast cultural divide with regard to the rights of women, but the implication in the thread seemed to be that "Democracy In Egypt" would mean the systematic raping of women. I think its a bit more complicated than that, and I think Riot was correct in pointing out that the weeks of protest withoutt widespread reports of rape shouldn't be tossed aside by this one - admittedly horrendous - incident.

I don't think anybody is saying that an Egyptian democracy will mean a state where women are afforded equal rights. But that doesn't mean it will automatically be a society where women are raped all the time either.

Stop trying to inject reason, sanity and thought about a real and serious subject into a "bash Riot" thread.
