Let's see ... workers, like you, purchase insurance through payroll deductions, as do their employers. Then if workers are laid off through no fault of their own, that insurance gives them a stipend so they don't starve to death.
You know, like if you made $100K a year, you get $300, $350 a week. Wow, let's hope we get laid off to rake that free cash in! LOL! All those payroll deductions we've paid over our lifetime of working sure cashes out great! Most people who are "littering unemployment lines" are not happy to be there. There is always a baseline unemployment. The numbers are far above that. And it's not due to some mass contagious infection with lethargy and laziness that has suddenly infected hundreds of thousands of people.
