None of that is fair or even accurate. How can I rub in anybodys face something that I don't do anymore. By my choice. It was 2009 not 2010 and I discovered it wasn't for me. I do know that no matter what I say some will find a way to carve it up. I have 30 years in this business and love to share my experiences and what I might have learned. If you'd like I'll shut up and leave you to yoursevles.

Actually Vic if you told us why Zenyatta is so special I would love to read your thoughts. I would love to here from you on why Sherriffs elected to race against weak ass fillies when there were weak ass horses and colts to go after. We all would like to read about what made being an agent so tough and why you felt it wasn't for you..

I POSTED THIS ON ANOTHER SITE A FEW DAYS BACK. I'VE TAKEN OUT THE $$ FIGURES BECAUSE IT GOT EVERYBODY IN SUCH A TIZZY

You got the full and complete story. From the time I took Rosario in Oct. 2008 until Tyler's injury this past July I had three days off. Those were spent in the hospital. Since then I rediscovered fun and joy in my life. I feel physically great. My relationship with my wife and step-daughter is terrific again.

In retrospect I just don't think I had the right makeup for agenting. Maybe just a bit too OC. There's really no end to how many hours you can put into it. You can beat the books and the barns and phones 8 hours a day five days a week. Or 14 hours a day 7 days a week. I was the latter and it took it's toll. I knew I had to change but never could.

I made ALOT of money.$*** from Rosario alone in 2009 but I never found time to enjoy it. I sure make alot less now but my quality of life is 1000% better. Tomorrow is promised to nobody. There are lots of miserable rich guys out there. I refuse to become one of them.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes.

Happy Holidays

Freddy. You must remember that being an agent was my second job. Unless they throw me out on the street I'm NEVER EVER giving up being announcer. Between the two I felt I had too much on my plate. As for the day to day interworkings of having a top rider I'd be happy to answer any questions you have as long as it doesn't betray a confidence or hurt anybody.

You are so sure HP will be around in 2012 2013 etc. You are so sure Cal racing is going to thrive again? Seems to the answer to both issues are far from etched in stone?

Vic how many agents have ever started their business as successfully as you? You had the two top jocks in Ca. You had business related issues that we all heard about. Did these type of issues have more to do with your career change then just looking to spend more time watching the Playboy channel with the Missis?

I'm not sure of anything. I know as much about HP's future as you do. I do know I sure hope they let me stay as long as we run. I had NO business related issues. I've stated the reasons for my walking way. Note to self. Get Playboy channel to watch with the Mrs. See and you guys think there's never any good ideas on DT.

I believe the following.
What I'm wondering is why you think anyone cares.

You're on a roll?

Talk about delusions of mediocrity.

You seem like an angry, little man who should be a poster child for displaced aggression.

You seem to like lists. Here you go...

The outcome of your constant and unprevoked berating of Vic is two-fold...

1. You are giving him a chance to show his patience, humor and class, and

2. You are making yourself look more bitter, self-serving and jealous with every post.

Ummm, yeah, have you read the thread?

I think you got the wrong guy tootsie. As an aside.... "delusions of mediocrity"? Huh? I think you should edit that.

Indeed. Especially ones to Santa Claus where I ask Santa to make it such that the ambassadors of the game behave in a way that might build an educated fan base and not in a way that makes people think they can't win in a fixed sport that pads the insiders pockets and leaves the every-day bettors behind.

Yes, he is being very patient indeed. Especially when it comes to addressing the lie "I had NO business related issues." That one just so happened to slip right by him. He must have missed the post.

Self-serving? Yes. I have a mission. You read the list I think?
Jealous? Certainly not. Professionally, I do what I want and love.
I'm much better at reading people than you. Stick to what you do well... horse obituaries. I appreciate them in a non-phony way if you must know.
Regarding the sport going to hell in a handbasket (tres cliche)... someone once posted this...

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...ill&id=5328333

Something similar is worth a try.

I don't have the answer though and I don't really see how it relates to your posts.

"Tootsie?" Come on you can do better I'm sure.

No I meant it exactly as I said it... delusions of mediocrity. For someone so obviously impressed with their own (failed) attempts at the occassional witticism I admit mine might have gone over your head (your fault) or might not have been clear (my fault). Unlike you I won't pat myself on the back for thinking I am clever when I am not.

You know what I hate? I hate bullies.

I hate people who have an agenda and pretend not to and people who are smug and pontificate because they're convinced they somehow know what's best for the rest of us.

I wouldn't have a problem if you were verbally assaulting someone who deserved it. Everyone loves a good Nerdy Trail fight.

He's just talking though. He's a nice guy, it's interesting, he's pretty funny at times and there you are being an ******* for no reason.

I'm not sure how to take the obituary line but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as it doesn't seem to be mean-spirited and well I'm glad you appreciate that particular thread.

Why don't you go start a thread about what is important to you or changes that need to be made or I don't know... why don't you show us another side? Otherwise some of us will continue to wonderif you're just a bitter, attention-starved **** or what...

7. Ordinary bettors (people that do/would bet) believe that unless you are an industry "insider" it is impossible to beat the game. (I could offer as evidence myriad examples)

You know what? I could really give a rats ass about your opinion. You are just a little boy with an axe to grind with anyone and everyone. Sounds to me like you need to grow up. The few of your posts that I've read seem to back that assessment up. Take your opinion and thesaurus someplace else. I enjoy reading inciteful post not simple blowhard statements.

many of your arguments seem very emotional and provide little substance. your lists are nothing more than lists at this point. you seem to be very passionate about horse racing; however, it would help suscribers if you would provide examples and evidence to support your claims.

while you provided a link to stauffer's "issue" (which really was rosario's issue) earlier, you fail to to cite the following: http://www.bloodhorse.com/pdf/JoelRo...int09PM001.pdf

i realize you have a problem with mr. stauffer; however, it is very irresponsible to defame an individual. be careful of the content of your posts as some of the material is libel (published or fixed form of defamation of character; a civil wrong that falsely impugns the reputation or character of a person or entity, opening the target up to public scorn or ridicule).

while i do not agree with most of your list, you are entitled to your opinion. in the future consider providing substance for your argumets, that way we are able to debate them with facts, either in support or opposition.

you may be a very intelligent person and a good guy, but we have a responsibility to post responsibly and maintain a convivial atmosphere.

Agree 100%

2. The current average age of horse racing bettors is close to one billion years old

Saw younger people than that during my many trips to the spa this summer.
3. Horse racing does not do anything (or, at most, very little) correct to attract new bettors and therefore is dying

Disagree

4. Horse racing is viewed by younger bettors (like 18 year-olds such as myself) as being a fixed, corrupt game that one cannot win at.

Really?
5. This is very unlike, for instance, the message that poker has sold to reinvent itself
I have no idea what to think of this
6. The reason horse racing is seen as fixed and corrupt is because, well, it is
Wow..that's a pretty optimistic view. If this is really the case, then why are you still involved?
7. Ordinary bettors (people that do/would bet) believe that unless you are an industry "insider" it is impossible to beat the game. (I could offer as evidence myriad examples)

I have thought this before myself, so therefore, I agree.
8. Worse yet, for some reason, the industry allows for (and in some case encourages) this corruption and faulty marketing strategy to perpetuate itself.

Don't really know what to think of this.
9. I am a crusader. I am a vigilante. I will address these issues when they rear their ugly head.

You go! Kick some ass!
10. Vic is an ugly head.
Hmmmm.

I disagree with a bunch of that as well.

It's a better conversation than " he's a meanie.....he should be banned. "

In my humble opinion any time a man boasts about making alot of money in his career he is the fool. The ego maniac fool. Thats just on you man. It appears you are ready to settle into something like a family life with your wife, step kid etc etc but I would caution you from my own personal experience that one of the most deflating things a man can do is talk about how much money he makes to another man who makes a considerable amount less. I think, from a distance, your a great cat. Best wishes to you and yours this holiday season!
