Screw stem cell research. People with spinal cord sections don't need science to walk again. Just a good televangalist
How about we go bi-partisan and use embryos of illegals for stem cells?

Nobody does embryonic stem cell any more (no new lines)

Even in clinical practice I don't do adipose-derived, just bone marrow - advances are fast & furious. Veterinary medicine is about 10 years ahead of human medicine in clinical application, thank you, you effing moron George Bush II, for single-handedly setting back cures for diabetes and spinal cord all that time. The human world "just" got to a promising spinal cord Phase I study.

I wouldn't make light of stem cell research. You'll probably end up benefiting from some form of it before you die.

I'm all for stem cell research/treatment despite my Catholic upbringing, embryo or not.

That's a good thing, because it is simply awesome. I predict within 20 years, we will have (readily used) laboratory-derived skin, heart muscle patches, pancreatic islet cells, menisci.

Don't worry about the Catholic upbringing, it's no longer an issue - there are currently established old cell lines that are embryologically-derived and approved for use, but no new ones, and there will not be; all the hot research is on using one's own stem cells to create what is needed.
