I watched that 1st half, and it was Vontae one-on-one, but there wasn't even a try to get a pass to Moss except on the fake. Moss has been doubled-team his entire career, and you scream when Brady tries to thread it to him. Yet one-on-one and no pass. You are on to something with the Pats actually having a great offense. Brady is completing 69% of his passes and Moss only has 9 catches and 22 targets. But the offense is flowing through some other players these days, namely TE Aaron Hernandez, who is becoming a factor in the middle of the field and also in the red zone (not to mention Rob Gronkowski). The safeties were watching. Let's face it, his coach is known for avoiding tough matchups when they are presented to him, so he might have simply gone into the game thinking he was going to avoid top corner Vontae Davis. Or since Moss is looking for the big pay day and came out complaining, maybe coach is issuing a statement that I may not need you, so good luck finding your money.

The deep ball to Moss was doubled almost all night long - and - in the redzone - Moss saw traditonal double coverage. |

* you put stress on the offensive line - and get more drive killing holding calls * you get your QB banged up because the plays aren't always quick to develop and you have to step into your throws. Brady got KO'd for the season in '08 in game #1 on a deep ball to Moss. He ended up playing with several broken ribs last year. A lot of teams in Minny came out of the gate 5-0 and ended up with beat up qbs later in the year... which isn't good when your own D is swiss cheese. * If you do strike and score a quick touchdown - and it only means that pile of sh!t New England defense on the sideline you have has to come out. When you can complete 80+% of your passes to always wide open in space underneath reciever... have long clock grinding drives .. with a defense like the one the Pats have, that's better than trying to force quick scores. If Moss leaves New England - this entire offense collapses. There is no one that can even remotely stretch a defense .. and guys like Wes Welker and the tight ends will struggle wildly because the space to work with won't be there. Danny Woodhead becomes worthless. This is a 6-10 team without Moss .. and a medicore offense that will utterly suck in the red area. |

speech·less (spchls) adj. 1. Lacking the faculty of speech. 2. Temporarily unable to speak, as through astonishment. 3. Refraining from speech; silent. 4. Unexpressed or inexpressible in words: speechless admiration. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- speechless·ly adv. speechless·ness n. BOTTOM LINE IS, BEFORE THE SEASSON STARTED I SAID MULTIPLE TIMES the best 2 teams in the NFL are Baltimore and New England and besides one bad half of football nothing at all has happened to change my mind. You could just drop this, but you never will... The Jets are tied for first and own the tie breaker, as of now. We will see what happens when they come to NE. |

![]() Not for nothing, but I don't get how folks think the Ravens are the next coming when they needed like 59:30 to beat a Steelers team by three with freaking Charlie Batch at quarterback. Just saying.
I'm not sure who the best team going is this year because everybody looks to have some serious deficiencies, but if it isn't the Steelers once Roethlisberger comes back next game, I don't know who it is.
