So what is YOUR "the" point? That we are not to spend any money, ever, on anything? That you're a strict social Darwinist? Either? Both? Neither?

Do first responders everywhere - fire, paramedic, police - a big favor. Tattoo across your forehead, "I believe in strict self-responsibility for my choices". Then, when they trip over your half-alive body after an accident or fire, they can just leave you to the responsibility for the result of your choice, and save someone else.

I see plenty of good things to spend our money on, and improving the lives of the people who protect us sure as hell is one.

This wasn't / isn't and never will be a post on whether or not first responders should get an entitlement... Riot's post really shows that she can't even dig in past the ****i<ng headlines.
