Dark side? Naw. Refusing to associate with the dark side. Distancing myself from the preponderance of far right-wing wingnuts currently populating and claiming to represent GOP world. I think the GOP in it's current incarnation is dead and done as a political force for many, many years to come.

Brian, as far as I'm concerned the last half of your post is totally inappropriate! Is SEIU privleged when they steamroll people in an open forum? They've done that. Liberal backed thugs. Is that what you want for an open and frank discussion? I worked 30 yrs as a Teamster in grocery whse. But their liberal drivel and voter suggestions never ceased to show up every month at my door. Please tell me what rewards I've reaped, other than by parentage or work. |

But you don't understand the concept of privilege at all, and your post shows that in about 16 different spots. Hard work, parentage, blah blah, they are *not* privilege. Generally people react very poorly to having privilege, as you've done here. If you honestly want to understand it (and I realize this is likely a lost cause before i even start asking), I'd be more than happy to PM with you and share links so you'd at least understand what privilege is, and from there decide whether you want to deny the fact that you have tons of it. You don't have to feel guilty or defensive about having it, which is what I was trying to get at with what I considered a very kind, fair response, but it seems you do intuitively feel guilty and defensive about it, based on your rather rancid response. Otherwise, it's cool, nothing has changed |

The article you quote above is talking about the general budget, and appears to be written before healthcare reform even passed. There is nothing in there that supports your contention. Doesn't even mention it that I can find. The CBO analysis on the final healthcare reform bill that was passed says it will cut the federal budget deficit by 1.2 trillion in the second 10 years. That fact was well-publicized (except by Faux News) when the final healthcare reform bill passed.

![]() Just hope and pray, Spinderella, that the 10 million seniors who will be forced out of the medicare advantage program in the next few years don't punish your hero in 2012.
Going from a maximum out of pocket per year of 3-10k to 20% unlimited will shirley piss a few million of them off. |

I hear the insurance industry whining ... and desperately playing loopholes and the blame game as their free ride subsidies for MA from the government have been cut off.

Yeah that won't piss a few million of them off. And really truth be told that generation never bases their votes for selfish reasons...they're more concerned about the younger generation. I'm sure they'll be more concerned with the insurance companies making a profit in a capitalist society. They'll gladly take the hit in their pocketbooks for the greater good. Hand me the rose-coloured glasses. Or Amnesty. That should do it. God Bless The New America sponsored by The Vatican. |

I'm sorry your blood boils ( my heart goes out to you) when one of your racist right wingers is called what he/she is. It's a horrible accusation - calling someone a racist. Not only is it akin to calling a black person the "N" word, it's akin to calling someone a Nazi. A racist is all about hate and thinking they're better than anyone else. It has a meaning all its own. If you can't figure that out, then you're just too lazy to find a better word to call someone who doesn't agree with your opinions about the vaunted PREZBO. Obama is a terrible President. He's dragging this country down to 3rd World level. That's how I view it. But, somehow, someway, the bootlickers who cling steadily to this snake oil salesman will spin it into saying my underlying meaning is that I'm a racist. Why? Because that's the lowest blow they can deliver - they have no other weapon. What is probably the worst part about President Obama is that he is creating a chasm between the political parties and citizens of this nation - far worse than any President I have ever lived through.

I don't care if our President is pink with lavender polka dots and worships a jar of mayonnaise so long as he does what's best for the country and listens to the will and desires of the people - not just those looking for someone to continually bail them out of their own bad decisions. As to the healthcare issue. Yes it desperately needs reform - just not what he's proposing. I don't want to see unfortunate people go without healthcare. I would personally agree to pay an extra percent or two in taxes to help pay for a healthcare plan for people who can't afford it or can't obtain it. And, I don't understand why a healthcare package for these people can't be paid for out of the stimulus package. I just don't like what's going to happen to my healthcare as a result of this plan. Just got a letter from my GP - he's closing his practice at the end of thise year, and I'm going to play hell finding another doctor who will take on another Medicare patient. The ER's will be devoid of people without healthcare only to be replaced by senior citizens who can't find a doctor who will accept Medicare. There's some scary stuff going on out there, and it's only going to get worse. Obama is a puppet dictator with several people well behind the scene pulling the strings Don't whine because you're unable to see them. And, I figured that all by myself. No one had to tell me.
