Couldn’t get the P4 single through in the Keeneland feature Thursday, but was a moderately successful afternoon nonetheless. Sixth race Best Value Remand paid a gaudy $15.60 and started a P3 that brought back $167 for a $1. Hope you did well!

Fun day Wednesday as the rollercoaster ride at Keeneland continues. Getting knocked out of the P4 in the first leg by tricky The Big Finisher ($16.00) proved OK. Miffed by the early KO, I turned around with a 3x3x4 ($36) Late P3 play that came back a fat $426 thanks to $34.00 nightcap winner Bill Harv Rib. The P4 paid $2,700 (.50) and would have been nice, but the P3 took the sting out…

The feature was darn lucrative too, as top tab Diamond Song ($7.80) won over Best Value second choice Silver Time (11-2) and Super Add Pina Colada (12-1) for a juicy $162.20 ($1) triple. This was a case where despising a bad ML fave (Wild Poppy) payed off. By covering Wild Poppy in the multi-race wagers only, you get room in your exotic plays for a horse like Pina Colada who made the trifecta payoff worthwhile.

Hope you did well! Off the turf in NY today, so the Late P4 isn’t nearly as inviting as it looked initially. Keeneland has but three more cards, so we’ll keep playing there…

Closed out a very strong weekend of play Sunday with chalky Keeneland P4 and a variety of successes at Belmont including $350 trifecta in the overnight Viskion stake and the straight $388 superfecta in the Ticonderoga. Hope you did well.

Keeneland winds down its’ fun fall this week, and Dee Tee’s Kickin N Screamin returns to Lexington on closing day Friday in the 2nd. In New York, Aqueduct gets established with the brief fall meet which features the fabulous Cigar Mile-Gazelle-Remsen-Demoiselle quad card on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Keeneland P6 pool continues to overflow after $29, $32 and $48 winners derailed tickets, resulting in Sunday’s $254,603 jackpot. The good news on the day was pointing out Rahystrada ($32 as Race 8 Best Value 2nd choice) and Satans Quick Chick ($48.80 as Raven Run Best Value 2nd choice) who combined for a $218 Double; a $781 P3 with 7th race top tab Heart Butte; and a $982 P3 with nightcap High 5 Player Striking Dancer. I had Striking Dancer just off the $72 3x4x3x4 .50 P4 ticket, but those that may have smartly included McPeek’s runoff winner received a $3,036 payoff. Hope you did well!

Kooky Keeneland displayed its’ quirky nature Friday, when after the first half of the P6, I was actually believing I had a serious shot to take down the sequence. Subsequently was skunked the rest of the way, without really coming close to a winner in the 7th-9th! First half P3 paid $105 though to help defray expenses and keep the day’s losses fairly reasonable. Kiaran McLaughlin swept the pair of Valley View divisions with bonus mutuels on both Bluegrass Princess and Eye of Taurus. Hope you did OK as we all get yet another shot at the sextet today! Belmont arrives at closing weekend today with the New York Bred Showcase today, affectionately monikered the ‘Muskrat Ramble’ years ago, a reference that as a Kid Ory/Louis Armstrong fan, always make me laugh…
