At the Big A, other than a nice little hit with Little Wise Guy in the 8th, it was a case of one horse after another running second. Mind Boggling couldn’t get to Old Kit Bag in the 6th, and no one could get to wire job Writinonthewall in the 7th or end to end High Lion in the 9th. In that nightcap, Ramon Dominguez on High Lion (Jacobson) again demonstrated why he’s a good as there is closing the door on Victor Santiago who was moving fastest of all up the rail on Sciacca’s Tutti Va Bene (13-1). Santiago had extracted his mount from a troubled start and saved ground to get in position to steal the race, but chose the wrong guy to try and get by inside. Look for Tutti Va Bene, who was primed enough for her seasonal return to grass to run a career best 71 Beyer Thursday, next time out with Prado.

Fun start to the race week at Aqueduct Wednesday, though I kind of talked myself out of the P4 by reducing core play down to $30 after scratches. Considering the sequence’s winners, $208 payout was OK if you incorpopratred the wider suggestions ($90) in the 7th which included Zito’s Khalifa. Hope you did well.

Good way to begin fun and important Saturday, as the Blue Grass and Arkansas Derby seek to sort out the Derby earnings quagmire.
