Is it my imagination or Javy race rode Frenchy in to a bad spot for what looked like the entire race?

Castellano rode the race like it was a match race between he and Leparoux...

Say what you want about the ride, Union Rags (and El Padrino) were less than awe inspiring today. I thought Take Charge Indy was holding well.

May not be much solace to those who keyed Union Rags today, but this Florida Derby result was just a positive for horse race players. The top two horses on most lists lost today(El Padrino and Union Rags), which merely opens everything up, raising the odds of those two horses on Derby day, as well as opening up the possibilities of many other runners come that day. The Derby, folks, will be wide open!

I never understood the love for El Pyrodino. Today did nothing to diminish him.

Union Rags might be even more overbet off that "trip" today than he would've been with a win. . . Can't wait to play against him. 95 Beyer for the winner, by the way.
