Sorta like saying Red Auerbach was the greatest. What about 8 teams in the league?, and Red had the best players so he won every year. UCLA had the best players all the time.

Bill Walton said Wooden taught him about life. Enough said. That drops him out of the top 10 automatically.

I have lived part of my life in Indiana, both Evansville and Indianapolis. I have spent time in and around IU. The more you get to know and talk to the old time locals down their the more stories you here about how Coach Knight did this for this guy, gave this business this, helped out this guy etc etc WITHOUT the media ever knowing, the way he wanted it. He has more friends then enemies and I would wager a years salary that at least 75% of his former players upon graduation and when they go into the real world look back and thank Coach Knight for teaching and leading them to be men. Does he have a bad temper, yeah. Is he a good hearted man you bet.

Well dont you think there is a reason he has the top players? Wooden isn't even in the equation he is so far ahead of the pack. And who had better players than Dean Smith? He had the best players and didn't win all the time. Red Auerbach was so far ahead of everybody he shouldnt really count either.

Go back at the last undefeated team and tell me who was on it and who coached it. Lot of superstars on that roster.....

That is why its so sad
to look at the present.
Gets no players anymore.
They dont enjoy the choke holds.

Either Isiah is one of the toughest
minded coaches of all time, or he
just does not have turmoil glasses.
I cant see how he stays on.

If he gets the Knicks to .500,
I will declare him Wooden's
offspring.
