Where's the buzz? Where did you find stories about Zenyatta winning HOTY yesterday morning aside from racing-related sites? Wasn't part of Zenyatta's "platform" for winning the award because she was some revolutionary who brought racing back to the forefront and made it a part of the sporting world again?

Having fans show up for racing does not mean the horse deserved the HOTY trophy, but you among many others have vastly overrated her achievements and made it possible.

WOW - thanks for answering my questions LMAO. OK OBVIOUSLY YOU CANT FOCUS ON SIMPLE QUESTIONS. no problem. but my original or any of my posts have Never said Z deservered HOTY. My points are purely trying to show the positive side for the sport not the negative side as your attacks seem to be focused on the 'TROPHY AND THE VOTING'

not being recognized by ESPN is probably a good thing these days. ESPN's a joke. it s an "inside edition/current affair" tabloid show. Crap like brett favre's wristwatch "scandal" and kevin garnet/charlie villaneuva's twitter battle are lead stories.

they show more highlights of poker and MMA (neither are sports) than boxing. nothing like seeing two guys mount each other in full guard for 15 minutes.

the marketing arm (NTRA) of thoroughbred racing does a poor job.

sorry, i couldnt resist taking a shot at espn.

To answer your ridiculous questions would have been to re-write everything I already had. There's no buzz. I don't care how many people showed up at Hollywood. Hell, 7000 more people showed up at Del Mar the Saturday after she ran.

In the end there may be no more fitting way for Zenyatta's career to end than for her to lose an actual race....but then to win some phony award. She can now go out on top....because her supporters have manufactured it that way. Her legions of worshipers succeeded in doing what she could not, which is apropos given that they were always a more powerful force in print, on message boards, and on the airwaves than she ever was on the track. Congratulations to them.

Her fans succeeded in at least one other thing as well....they made me despise a good horse that I would have otherwise liked to enjoy. Congratulations again.

You must hate 'all' sports teams because (imo) screaming adults dressed in
stupid gear, acting immature is worse than what the z fans did.

You're the one keeping the hate alive. Rock on.

Thanks for keeping tabs on what I'm doing. I appreciate it. Why you even brought up the word hate is baffling.

Ok, I watch ESPN relatively regularly, and have never seen MMA highlights in my life. Is that just me?

It seems like you're missing the point. Football fans buying apparel and tickets to games are supporting the team and the sport as a whole. Zennyatta fans showing up with pretty signs while supporting the horse are doing absolutely nothing for the game as long as they aren't putting money into the pools. So exactly how is this good for the sport that needs gamblers to thrive?

Horse racing apparel sales must be at an all-time high right now.

To keep with the thread title, a great day for racing would be to have Zenyatta booked to Blame, than live stream the breeding shed action via 60 minutes and Oprah, TVG could provide live coverage as well, that way America ( all the fans Zenyatta brought to the sport) could actually say they SAW Zenyatta finish in front of Blame.

OK, it's 2 days later. Does anybody in the world other than those who are already racing fans talk about this at all?

All of this "think of the new fans!" stuff is pure hor$e$hit.
