Default Went The Day Wrong

Hopefully the "dirt experiment" is over.....Possibly another example of turfers liking the Churchill Downs dirt.
Unless he got hurt, he never lifted a hoof

As it did for 9 other horses in the race. So we are to conclude they are not dirt horses?

Make it stop, please!

He ran horrible. He also ran on 2 weeks rest after running a big race in one of the toughest races run on dirt in the world. To conclude that he is turf only horse off one race is ludicrous. Creative Cause got his a$$ handed to him by the 2 best three year old route horses in training today too, is he not a dirt horse?

Watch the replay....CC at least had the appearance of a horse running in a race...with quite another gap back to Rickey D's horse. Bodemeister ran 6 races in a day and a half, the one before this in the same race that WTDW ran in...What's his excuse for runnin lites out?

WTDW will do much better on the grass at Saratoga? Well, he'd better run on something where these 2 ain't cuz that plan's not working out too well, and grass would be good....but he'd better up his game there too, cuz there are TONS of 3yo grassers out there licking their chops

You said you hope the dirt experiment was over as if the connections are crazy for running him on dirt. Today's performance while not very good does not mean the connections made a bad choice. If anything I think they should have skipped the Preakness and ran in the Belmont. But they found out today is that there are two horses much better than theirs.

Creative Cause is a nice horse but was soundly defeated by the top two and not in their tier.

I guess your avatar represents the Monday morning quarterback you have been after the race was run today.

Can somebody tell me about this "good race" he ran in the Derby? I've watched it several times and all I see is a well beaten clunk up 4th after a very fast pace.

I think some Americans just bow down to foreigners. Clambaked is one of them.

I admit I got tricked by that race and Doug was right to call me out on it. That said, compared to this crop I would not conclude that this is a turf only horse whose connections are wrongly running their horse in these races which was the premise of this thread.

That's what I've been saying. Said the same about Dullahan in both the BC Juvenile and the Derby. We'll see how he runs at Belmont, but he won't be on top of my tickets.

I'm wondering if the shipping back and forth contributed to Creative Cause sliding back a bit, he was right there with these horses his last two, that ship back and forth was so unnecessary.

Didn't Bode ship as well? I just think he got hurt being closer to the pace yesterday and more importantly he's a notch below the other two.

Believe Bode stayed at Churchill and shipped up from Louisville.

I didn't like Creative Cause shipping back to Cali, but it obviously didn't bother him him at all.

Creative Cause was well beaten but he did get a 102 BSF for the Preakness, which matched his best in the San Felipe.

Most people who own horses don't consider going from 5th to 3rd 'sliding back" when you are running in similar company.

CC went back to Cali while Bode went straight to Baltimore.

I think Creative Cause is just a cut below. No shame in that.

I thought I noticed quite a bit of sweating on WTDW right before he was loaded in the gate. I had him boxed with IHA and knew it was over for that exacta.

I still think Union Rags should have run in the Preakness and Went the Day Well should have gone in the Belmont instead, but what do I know?

Except he got beat by 9, considering how close he has been to these two prior, I would consider that sliding back. I also
stated the ship may have been the reason, I know Bode and IHA stayed put, hence the reason for my post
to begin with.
