Default Are there any Yankees fans in this place?

Best record in baseball after last night. 3.5 games ahead in the division and playing some really good baseball.

Gales is a true fan. Not a fair weathered fan, but a real New Yawker who loves his Yanks!

And they have been playing superb baseball for over a month. Its not like its something new.

The WS goes through them and Philadelphia. I wouldnt watch a single game it this holds true to form!

He reminds me of the early days of Bruce Chen. He was almost always effective but threw so many damn pitches that he rarely made it past the fifth inning and frequently got no decisions. Chen started 31 games for the Phillies in 2000-2001 with a 4.29 ERA and 1.27 WHIP and only managed a 7-9 record. I expect Joba to have a similar career.

Man you are tough on a guy...Bruce Chen? I'd rather blow my arm out.

Honestly I have been watching the Yankees games very closely and the umps have clearly stopped cheating them which is the key to the winning streak. Just wait till the Sox complain that they dont have their cheating advantage and the umps go back to screwing the yanks again.

What is a "true yankee fan" anyway? Do you have to be neurotic? Do you have to be a new yorker? Do you have to be a neurotic new yorker?

I am a fan and have been since i can remember. I dont live in new york (although my grandparents live in albany but that really doesnt matter) but does that make me any less of a fan?

I am a Yankee fan, and if the last 9 years have proven that you don't necessarily get what you pay for. Give them some credit.

Dala- Not implying that you werent a real fan nor that you have to be a "New Yawker" like my friend Gales. I know you like the Yankees. Thats cool. I love the Red Sox and I have never lived in Massachusetts. As my wife would attest, I am pretty neurotic about the Sox and their losses can sometimes bring about negative mood swings.

I dont see where you live mattering which team you root for.

i know what you mean. I have seen a ton of freshly minted sox fans in the last couple of years thats for sure.

It should be an interesting end to the season. Yanks finished a soft spot of their schedule. I was surprised boston didnt add a bigger bat for the stretch run. Still time.

They have the talent, just going through a slump at the plate. Yankees are clearly the best team in the AL as is the Phillies in the NL. The Sox need to just make it in and they instantly be one of the favorites too, along with the Yanks, who are a lock to make it in as are the Phillies.

I've loved the Red Sox all my life and hung through some tragic beats. I have to say losing to the Rays in Game 7 last year was one of the toughest. They looked so out of the series after playing horrible in games 3 and 4, then miraculously won games 5 and 6 only to get beat in Game 7. Being that close to a try at their 3rd title in 5 years is heartbreaking. 1986 was awful but I was at the age (16) where other things mattered more.

Yup, going to be a fantastic finish. One of my favorite sports time of year is late Aug/early Sep...pennant races materialize, last week of Saratoga, the start of Belmont, and the US Open in tennis.
