Default Air commander

What a big goofey horse, these point givens are all the same. I think this guy ran sneaky good today and could be one to watch in the santa anita derby, even after today im still not that high on cobalt blue, i kinda think air commander will be better down the road, cobalt blue had things his own way today and ran well, but i think air commander will be over looked and i think this guy has a future.

Point Given was a massive three year old who generally made the horses that he ran against look like something that he excreted after a good meal. To paraphrase Sen. Bentsen: I knew Point Given. Point Given was a friend of mine. Air Commander, you're no Point Given.

i understand, but he was such a great horse i guess i just expect more.... also i really do like this guy air commander, i think he could at clunk up and get a peice if he makes it to the derby, and he obviously hasent peaked yet maybe baffert can have him so he peaks on derby day, possibly another solid run in the santa anita derby, and then a big price, in the kentucky derby, where i think he could run good.

Baffert did say this one's the most like his sire of any of them. Maybe he'll take the seasoning a little more seriously this time. I still think PG's Derby got screwed up because Bob got cocky about what he had.

Ever since Baffert married that smokin' hot blonde from Louisville it's been all downhill for his horses.

Agree wholeheartedly. Bob, wanted the triple crown bad, and wanted a horse left for the Belmont after previously coming up short, so he undertrained him for the Derby. PG should have won the crown, imho. What a specimen he was ontrack.

I got this race wrong. I underestimated Cobalt Blue, and overestimated Air Commander. Cobalt Blue did have things pretty much his own way on the front end, but I was still pretty impressed with his race today.
Anyone know what the time was for the last furlong?

Im looking at just under 13 seconds. 12.82 my own timing method.

I did the same thing mira. You aren't the only one. I was worried about CB having his way on the front end, but did I listen to that worrry? NOPE!

I don't think it was undertraining, but rather Stevens running the horse too close to a torrid pace. Also, you cannot take anything away from the race Monarchos ran..a sub 2 minute Derby and an over the top performance from which he never recovered.
