Violette has had killer numbers with babies going all the way back to '98 -- and this one today isn't slow with the running start (was an 8k yearling turned 40k 2yo) -- but considering the stock he gets, this is not one of the ones of his you'd want and this one doesn't figure to be a fast breaker either. Maybe a look 2nd time out on the drop to high priced MCL.

Teen Pauline and My Happy Face were definitely the two correct first-time-starters in that race ... they blew the rest of the field into smithereens and I believe TP got the track record. Nice performance.

The experienced Pletcher runner couldn't even beat that Ritvo debuter that pin-hooked so well for 3rd. The Violette that was taken a lot of money will be in for a tag next time out.

I had a multiple dollar ticket live to Pletcher, but nothing... Managed a $.50 cover ticket that was ok. Thanks for input.

Good job narrowing the race down CL. Late money on TP told you she was alive. Nice $40 exacta payoff.

Any thoughts on the 4th tomorrow?

Pletcher has a firster and Coach AJ. Coach AJ shows a Turf work on 7/23. Not sure what to make of that, if anything.

1 and 6 are A'S.
The 5 is a B.
Everyone else is a toss.
Goodluck.

Really good. So good Lukas is likely going to an X for me. Asmussen on the other hand is hard to toss 2nd time out. Plus hes having a big meet.

I'm passing the race.

Lukas looks best of the experienced runners but his numbers are just brutal. The only debuter is a Pletcher that has had decent workout reports...but wasn't a 2yo sale horse.

A rare good piece of info in a Saratoga baby race - nice. . . tricky trip too. Suprised how dead on the board he was.

Looks like the opening weekend disaster for Pletcher has come to an end.
