He's a big boy and can handle a few loudmouths. but imo opinion he caused the best horse in the race to lose. He never had to worry about catching Life At Ten, he was always going to catch that one. All he had to do to win the race was to not get cute and do something stupid, but he just couldn't resist. I would never ride the guy in a big race except maybe in the derby or at Churchill.

More likely than not the jockeys are snickering to themselves knowing the idiot screaming obscenities lost his money.

you're probably right. jocks are getting paid to be there, while bettors are paying to be there...yeah, i'm sure the riders feel abused.

What ground Rachel lost on the first turn didn't cost her the final furlong.
If a jock pushes a horse wide and wins, it's okay. If not the jock's a jerk. HELLO! Guess a lot of you weren't around when Cordero was riding.

I'm sure Calvin can put up with the losers who bet their rent money. One day you're a star and the next day it gets ripped it off the door. Fickle fans.

I'm one of Rachel's biggest fans, but I had cautious optimism about her winning this race.. I could analyze from now until doomsday, but the end result is she lost. I can deal with it and still think she is one of the greatest
3-year old fillies to ever grace the sport of racing. She carries her daddy's genes, and that includes never giving up even if she's running on heart alone.

I am a big fan of Calvin and Im not saying I agree with this, but If Super Saver and Rachel are to run again I could see Calvin off both of them. Shaun is waiting for a crack on Rachel and works her in the mornings. Unless SS comes back at some race at Churchill, I think JV gets the mount.

When I was 19, I went to Yonkers by myself. I witnessed hellacious verbal abuse. I think it scarred me for life.

The great part of the Saratoga experience is the access and freedom fans have to horses, trainers, jockeys and other personalities throughout the horse industry. And five or ten idiots had to finish a great racing weekend by telling Calvin Borel what he should or shouldn't have done

LEARN THE GAME BEFORE YOU SPEAK!
what do you expect. i was there and people were actually crying...no. i am not exagerating. i saw another guy throw stuff all around and kicking things. it was ugly. but you are right many of them don't have a clue about horse racing. thats the advantage all of us (racing geeks) have if we bet right. the only surprise for me, was the horse that won(i had rachel, life at ten and miss singhsix in pic 3's)....i was not the least surprised she did not make the last 50 yards or so. people live in this fantasy world when it comes to BIG horses...they actually believe they are larger than life and unbeatable. it happens in all sports. anyone that follows racing knew she would have a hard time yesterday, regauardless what the shills on TV said....win or lose. this horse runs very hard throughout the entire race. thats her weakness. she did so again yesterday and only sputtered at the very end. it was a brave effort and had nothing to do with calvin. the owners decisions along with the trainer are where the blame lays if there is any. but you won't see people yacking at them over there. the entire season for rachel has been a "spin" game. if you believe anything else then you have not been following racing as long as i have. "vulnerable favorite" is not in the peoples vocabulary that you speak of...they would rather bitch at the jockey.

It was probably those damn TeaBaggers

I was there -compared to the number of people in attendance it was just a handful of looooosers.

The verbal abuse at Belmont / Aqueduct is many, many lengths ahead of what happens at Saratoga. The key difference is that at Saratoga they walk through the crowd. Bailey once flipped-out on a group of men giving him fits after every race. It all comes with the territory.
