![]() Cleveland had the misfortune of playing a pathetically weak schedule to get there. They only needed to put out 70% effort to trounce the likes of Hou, CWS and Minn and simply were not sharp. The Rays have been playing elimination ball for almost a week and were much sharper for it.
Trotting out a rookie who started the year in AA to save your season spoke volumes about their pitching staff as well. IMO if they played even one remotely competitive team down the stretch the result could have been different, but they had no chance last night. |
