I have a number of trainer stats for Saratoga, but I thought this one was interesting.
19 trainers have 100 or more starts on dirt at Saratoga between 2008 and 2012. Only one has a positive ROI. Who is it? Three trainers have ROIs below $1.00. That'll be tough, but can anyone name them? |

Mott has to be close to the 1.00 mark, though he has gotten better in recent years on dirt.

Asmussen's dirt ROI is a very respectable $1.87 from 216 starters. Kimmel's is $1.74 from 109 starters. As CJ suspected, Weaver has only 87 dirt starters during that period, but his ROI is $1.97 Bingo! The 2011 meet helped it quite a bit. With exactly 100 dirt starters, Chad Brown's ROI is $2.18 |

Albertrani has to be one of the sub 1 guys.

Indeed, $0.86 ROI from 117 starters. On turf, he is 4-83 with an ROI of $0.39.

I don't know if he has over 100 starters, but I would not be surprised if Rusty Arnold is one of the sub par guys.

From his 41 dirt starters, Arnold's ROI is $0.48!

Got that right. He is just 4-53 going back to '08, but those four have all paid well. Most recent bomber was Presumptive on opening day 2012.
