Manziel got arrested in July in an incident in which racial slurs were used by his buddy, doesn't seem like a guy heisman worthy.

I know you love ND but this is just silly. Why should he be responsible for something his buddy said in anger? Gino Toretta won the Heisman Trophy, the trophy has been a joke since.

hell, cam newton was a thief, didn't keep him from winning. but a guy who was with a guy who said some things, that should keep manziel from winning? ![]()

No but he was arrested for getting in a fight with the guy the racial slurs were directed at, he's not innocent in all this.

I'm not saying throw him in jail, but the heisman is suppose to be about on the field and off the field, someone who represents way a college athlete is. Look up the whole spew on what the heisman recognizes.

after seeing newton get the award, there is no way anyone can say a thing about manziel in that regard, regardless of heisman spiels.
btw, i am not advocating for 'johnny football' at all in regards to whether he is most deserving this year. i am saying, however, that his off the field antics don't rise to the level of ineligibility.

If it was NDs qb tommy Rees goon for heisman if say absolutely not after he was arrested before the season. This award is a privilege, you should be held to a higher standard to win the award although I know that hasn't always been the case. Try finding dirt on manti teo, you'll be looking a long time and come up empty.

I'm waiting for more info to come out, but I still say his caring personality was taken advantage of and he was sucked in to fall in love with a girl he thought was sick and dying. Only thing I can fault him for is making up parts of the story, but I think that was out of embarrassment that he was in love with someone strictly online. The truth will come out, trust me I wasn't always defending manti. I called my buddies and my dad when news first broke and told them I can't believe this guy and I lost all respect for manti. Once I calmed down and heard more facts I began to believe he is that same high character guy and will believe until proven otherwise.
And you guys thought ND was no longer relevant, this **** is bigger than lance Armstrong simply because it happened at ND. |

How can you be such a leader...yet your teammates barely know you? At the very least, he lied when he continued this nonsense when he "found out" the whole thing was a hoax in late December. Do high character guys continue to lie..or do they take on issues? Ask yourself this...if Deadspin never uncovered this, would he ever have admitted it all? I say no way. |
