People want to laugh and rag on notre dame for playing wake forest and navy, but Georgia and Alabama have played teams this year that navy would be double digit favorites over. This is when blind hatred comes into play.

no, it's not blind hatred. everyone here knows that every team has some softballs. there's more to schedules than the bad teams. there's more to a schedule than one or two good teams also. and that's what nd faced. and it's not that they play cupcakes, it's that they barely beat them. ot's. 3 point margins. against cupcakes.
you want to call it hatred, i call it realistic. like i said, enjoy it. just don't think that nd could handle an nfl team any more than bama could. or usc a few years back.

I've never thought this years ND team is unbeatable or the greatest ever. I said they are pretty damn good and get no respect. Alabama may be better than them, but on January 7 they won't be. This team is all about winning, whether its be 3 or 30 their motto out of Kelly's mouth is find a way to win. He said he could have tried putting up style points and opening te offense up but that's not who they are and it would be a disservice to the team. They hit you in the mouth on defense and hit you in the mouth on offense with their run game.

i disagree, they get more than their share of attention. i am surprised at so many who think bama has it all wrapped up. everyone ought to know that nothing is a sure thing in football. just look at cleveland beating pittsburgh for example. or kstate and oregon going down a couple weeks ago.
i guess it comes down to ND having had so many close calls this year? that and people thinking others would finish ahead of them, and they wouldn't get into the title game.
and i'm not sure about mottos coming out of kellys mouth, but i don't care for the guys histrionics. but then, i always thought petrino was an ass, spurrier is another who rankles, and nick is also over the top at times. no need to completely lose your mind on the sidelines.

ND is not only the most hated team but the most popular as well. That makes them special simply because as Danzig has pointed out money is more important than fairness in college football. The schedule they play is fine. They are an indepenent and have to play who they can schedule. Lets face it there are 5 good SEC teams and the rest stink. Some of the teams that they are playing in November is embarrasing. (Jacksonville state, Western Carolina)

Florida needed a miracle to beat LA-Lafeyette at home a few weeks ago so no tears for them.

IMO Alabama is the best team in the country but they have so many built in advantages that they can't complain about the system.

IMO Notre Dame might be the 7th or 8th best team.

BUT the fact is ND has done what the system rewards and by not losing they get their chance. They are the one team that will get a fair chance to win the title. Alabama will probably beat GA and get a chance though I'm not sure that they deserve the chance more than many of the other 1 loss teams or even A & M who beat them on their home field. That is the issue that I have always had with the BCS especially when compared to the basketball tourney. Be realistic if you arent an SEC team you have to go undefeated and even then you better be from a big conference and start off the year ranked. Why have 124 Div 1 teams if only 12 (or less) have any prayer of winning the title?

I agree with all of this with one exception. I think Notre Dame might be the 10th or 11th best team. If they were playing today, I would take Alabama, Stanford, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ohio St, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas A&M over them and maybe Florida St. I think Georgia beats them by at least 10 and Bama by at least 17.

Are stupid opinions like this Hoss good enough reason to feel the hatred and fire back? I wish Ohio st wasn't banned from a bowl game, ND would roll on them.

I dont think Ohio State is that good. South Carolina has never won a big game in its history. FSU is a questionable IMO

you are calling anyone here who says anything at all critical about nd as being blinded by hatred. not exactly coming across as being rational in this discussion.
you continued to move forward because of the misfortune of others, not because dame showed they were better than the others.

constant bashing? but it's neither constant, nor bashing. like i said, critique isn't 'bashing'. as for the bolded, riotesque.

I thought Kelly's motto was: "I don't care how windy it is up there, you get up there on this scaffold and do your job."

Nah. Its not even close to what the coach showed by putting the kid up on the scaffold in dangerous conditions.

Hey, I see Prince Shembo on the field. Guess he hasn't raped anyone lately.

Um.. Navy needed last second to beat the mighty Hoosiers, and they were blown away by Penn State and then a loss to the great and powerful Troy.

Speaking of Stanford, that game against at ND is still not over in my book.

After you've been stopped how much time do you get to roll and squirm your way over when you are laying on other bodies? 5 minutes? Whistle blew which is why players started running off the field. Game over!

It only took a matter of 3 seconds, and if the whistle blew why was it reviewed?
