Schwartz is paid handsomely to know the rules. It is all on him, despite the stupidity of the rule.
It's a stupid rule. Schwartz got caught in the heat of the moment.

The thing bothering me is that Schwartz is taking all the heat and everyone has seemed to forget how badly the officials botched the call. Almost like, since Schwartz threw the flag the call was vindicated.

If you want to make it a penalty then access the Lions 15 yards, but letting an incorrect call (pretty much one that affected the outcome of the game) stand because a coach threw the challange flag in the heat of the moment on a call that was going to be reviewed anyway, is absolutely ridiculous. The NFL has a system in place that let a horrible call stand because of a technicality. That's unacceptable.
