Default NBC's coverage showed the last 7 minutes only - No Classic!

I guess b/c of games today NBC was behind and only showed the last 7 minutes of coverage, which means they missed the Classic! Instead, I had my local news and Jeopardy! This is absolutely unacceptable!!!!! I hope it was different elsewhere.

That must be local. It was on here in its entirety right after the Notre Dame/Pitt game.

The Detroit market had local news at 8. They did break away at 8:30 to show the classic. Right after the race they went back to local news. Another instance of the lack of respect horse racing gets.

That sucks. Might be worth calling your local affiliate and complaining.

Could be more of a lack of respect for Detroit than it is for racing.

Here in Southern California, the coverage was shown in it's entirety after the Notre Dame game.

A friend of mine sent a series of really angry tweets about American Airlines during an 8 hour delay. A rep from American responded to them and was completely oblivious to the fact that my friend was being sarcastic. Hilarity ensued.

You could watch it on drf(through Yahoo, Facebook, etc.), if you agree to let them have your Yahoo profile, Yahoo contacts etc. Which means they would send racing spam to your friends and relatives, I guess on the theory that if you like racing then your friends and relatives do also. Wrong!! I finally watched it on Cal Racing Videos until NBC finally got their coverage going after the football game.

This is the reply from my local station after my complaint. Sounds like they chose to show their local programming instead of the BC Classic.

NBC had provided the station with a 1-hour local window on Saturday night.
Due to Notre Dame Football running late that 1-hour window did not become available until 7:50 – 8:50pm during the Breeder’s Cup.

I can only guess that maybe they elected to show local programming because they would collect more in ad revenue from commercials running during local programming. I imagine there's variation on how much revenue NBC gets and how much local stations get depending on whether it's local programming or national.

Doesn't make it any less infuriating, but money always seems to get the final say.

Were you able to find the broadcast online anywhere?

i thought the coverage stunk....instead of 45 minutes of fluff they should have recapped the earlier races....hard to get the general public on board showing 1 race in an hour...the racing is obviously where the action is not in the fluff pieces....

saturday footballl beforehand obviously lots of bettors there....lets show some races, show on 4-5 figure payouts and get them on board....
