Black Caviar vs. Hay List

Can't say she hasn't faced tough competition. Would like to see them bring her to the Breeders Cup but it looks like they will settle for Hong Kong instead.

We don't really have a race for her, do we? The Turf Sprint doesn't exactly drip prestige.

It is a Grade 1 now. Maybe they could double the purse to entice them. Do something...at least make a legitimate attempt to get her stateside.

Best of the best. That's the whole point of the Breeders Cup. They'll do the opposite.

Don't let the BC Committee see this or they'll implement a one year BC-BC (Black Caviar) race just because they can.

Breeders Cup Sprint against the boys. Six furlongs on dirt.

Go for the title of Sprinter of the World -- that's what the Hertz Rent-A-Car guy would do ... it can't be a worse idea than hiring OJ Simpson as the company spokesman.

In fairness to Hertz, hindsight is always 20-20. (also see: The Naked Gun movies)

And it's on the hill this year, ugh.

What about Lonhro, Makybe Diva, Sunline? Some down under consideration?

I didn't know much about Reigh Count until I read this thread. Thank You Calzone! I never knew that he went overseas or any of that.

I love learning the history of great horses of yesteryear.

He was a heck of a horse from what I read online after you got me interested.

Gentlemen was a freak of nature on both turf and dirt.

Greinton kicked ass on both surfaces too.

John Henry could run a little on both.

I felt that Lady's Secret would have been a monster on turf.

Loved Greinton, but he came up short in the Arlington Million and BC Turf, although he was closing on Teleprompter in the Turf.

Reigh Count sired triple crown winner Count Fleet.

I doubt any of them would have handled the dirt.

Generally, you need a lot of American influence in the pedigree.
