the vote was 98-0 in the Senate, and 420-1 in the House to

'authorize then-president George W. Bush “to use all necessary and appropriate force” against anyone he held responsible for the 9/11 attacks on New York’s World Trade Center and the Pentagon.'

i know fans of democrats like to point fingers only at their gop buddies, but it's simply false. unless of course you can show that those numbers above were exclusively republicans in congress? i don't think that's the case.

Shoot i would have voted yea when presented with the 'facts' given at the time...as we all found out later all the 'reasons' were a pack of complete lies by the Bush war mongers...

Let me post my favorite quote on the subject...

'When Bush stood with his arm around a NY fireman after the 9/11 attacks promising to find whoever did this to the nation, he was every American's president. His polls soared. He had a unique opportunity to unite America, to bring the U.S. together with allies round the world to fight terrorism and hate, to eliminate al-Qaida, to eliminate our vulnerabilities, to strengthen important nations threatened by radicalism. He did NONE of those things..He invaded Iraq!....excerpt from Richard Clarke's book..
