So India then? You cannot continue to compare this country and its issues with the other "big countries" of the world as the problems facing it are so very different. Our illegal population that is under the care of the federal government is larger than the population of some European nations, which if you haven't noticed are collapsing under their own very light weight.

So then we are discussing countries that have zero similarities to ours, other than roads, a currency and government, OK. Landmass, population, natural resources (utilized or ignored) are not even part of the conversation. That makes sense, we should be able to run our country as "well" as one that has 20% of the population and 1/100 of the issues.

I'm sorry you obviously have no idea what a "first world" country is. It's an actual definition, defining certain countries, for specific reasons.

No, it's not possessing merely roads, currency and a government.

I said: "Obama-Biden 2012, baby. Plus sweep of the Senate and House by Independents and Dems. Pull this country kicking and screaming, out of the hands of the anti-everything loons, and into the 21st century with the other big countries"

Where are we in health care among the other first world countries? Education? Cost of education? Cost of health care? Percentage of poor living substandard lives? Aid programs to the poor? Education and housing help? What percentage are employed? Their savings rate? Their retirement quality of life? How long they live? Number of murders? Crime?

Hint: we aren't first in any of it. Except murders.
