![]() I wish the producers had balls, so because some PETA morons get mad they cave? I have horses that have reared up and flipped over, maybe I should quit my job. I guess there will no longer be any horse shows or movies, a horse might get hurt. This is so ridiculous, if any of those animal rights wackos REALLY knew horses, they would know they get injured in their stalls, in the pastures, in trailers and just plain walking down the road.

![]() I feel terrible for everyone involved, John Perrotta put what 3 1/2 or 4 years into this project to have it end this way is a damn shame! I know this show has taken plenty of shots on this board, which everyone is entitled to have their views of course. In my opinion this was a quality show, with a group of characters that this household was enjoying following. I think it's terrible that the show will not be around further to see what happens to these characters, cuz in my opinion the show was growing stronger with each episode. I'm am not sure if they had filmed all or any of season 2, but i hope the producers will put together a dvd package with any remaining episodes and release it at some future date.

![]() Reading some viewer comments on Yahoo. Most people hated it becuase they could not understand the horse racing jargon, felt the actors were mumbling and it was a topic unrelatable.

![]() Milch was on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson the other day. They showed a clip that was almost entirely jargon. Very little in the way of normal vocabulary. There's gotta be a sense of context or characters (I don't mean watching gamblers mid-gamble). Show Nolte or Hoffman who have other things going on and are, frankly, more famous draws. Hit newbies with the other stuff when they watch the show. I remember thinking that if I weren't already a fan of the sport, that clip would turn me off of trying to start watching Luck. It's dry when you just read out a string of wagers. It makes it sound like you're reading a math equation. Really bad idea to show it and expect anyone to go 'sign me up for that.' I really thought it was a missed opportunity.

Those HBO c**ksuckers killed Deadwood on a cost versus ratings basis, and that show was much, much better (and far more acclaimed) than Luck (which I liked but had no illusions about). Luck is gone, and no other network is going to revive it. Who the hell would want that heat for those ratings? |

![]() Poor guy …he can't catch a break… I feel his pain… not only do they slaughter delphi for the insurance money but now they ruin the only derby chances he'll ever have…. he's probably sitting in front of the stable now saying "they killed the show.'

![]() We all know why they really cancelled the show- bad ratings. But we haven't heard much about the first two breakdowns. The last one occurred when they were walking the horse back to the stall, as reported. But we never heard the details of the first two. In the first episode there was a catastrophic breakdown in the very first race, I believe(it didn't take the show long to show that part of horse racing) Was this the horse that had to be euthanized? Did something go wrong with a stunt they were doing?
They should be able to perform these stunts safely. A horse can fall and get back up safely. Heck, back in the day in these steeplechase races, the WINNER of the race typically fell three or four times.

![]() http://www.deadline.com/2012/03/hbos...t-horse-death/ Needless to say, this type of publicity is the last thing this sport needs. |
