Those of us in the NY area who were harness fans in the 70's remember Stan Bergstein fondly. RIP and good night, Stan.

I remember very well the Yonkers/Roosevelt Raceway shows, Saturday evenings, Spencer Ross and Stan.

Not to Mention Jack E Lee.. Who doesn't remember Mr AAA wiring them 4 weeks in a row with the red man in the bike. Naturally the only reason we watched initially was because Crusher Blackwell was battling Haystacks Calhoun in the reinforced robes match at Midnight on WWWF

Amazing that in those days they would attract 40,000 people for races like the International Trot and the Messinger on a Saturday night and harness racing had weekly coverage of the feature race at a time when there were basically only 7 channels on TV. Stan and Spencer were great in those days.

Unfortunately, I watched because I was a degenerate in the making then, it is how I got to where I am today. But I do remember the wrestling coming on at midnight after the Roosevelt/Yonkers show ended. Who could ever forget the classic song "I believe in Yonkers!"
