Jerry Rice > Randy Moss
So he catches a TD to put his team up in the Super Bowl but because of a miraculous play between Manning and Tyree and a blown coverage by the db that allowed Burress to score and beat them, that's the difference between him having a ring and being a winner and not and being a loser?

A winner always gives his best even when things aren't going his way.

A loser gives his best when things are going his way;and quits when they are not going...said way.

This is very true. I just think that too often in team sports, people are labeled as winners or losers based on championships won when so many factors that are beyond their control play a large part in whether they win or not. As I mentioned with Moss, without that miracle pass to Tyree, Moss has a ring now. Did Kevin Garnett suddenly become a winner when he won or did he become better? Dirk Nowitzki is not better now than he has been and he wasn't a loser before. Is Alex Rodriguez a winner now? Trent Dilfer is a winner and Dan Marino a loser?

The "ring" stuff is nonsense in football.

I understand why they try and use it for the quarterback. The quarterback touches the ball every offensive snap - and has a chance to audible pre-snap based on defensive looks.

the game is 40% offense, 40% defense, and 20% special teams...and with 11 friggen people on the field at all times.

In basketball - you have the same five guys going both ways - it's the only team sport where "ring" means anything.

In individual sports - championships are everything.

He was a colossal loser/f.ucktard with talent. His talent made him special and he squandered it because he has NOTHING upstairs.

A quitting ret.arded country bumpkin.

One look at his career numbers and ranks all-time among receivers and it's impossible to say he squandered his talent. No sane person would leave him out of the top five receivers in the history of the game. Most would probably list him top three. If that's squandered talent, everyone should try to waste their abilities as well.

I can understand not caring for him personally or not respecting his work ethic. But there can be no questioning his production.

Before he ever took an NFL snap - Moss was a personal hero of mine.

His 4-TD 200+ yard performance in the 1-AA National Championship game as a Freshman was like the greatest thing I'd ever seen - I watched it on ESPN as a wanna-be high school reciever.

This interview and feature that SI did on Moss before his Sophomore season of college had started was one of my favorite pieces ever written.

He is my Muhammed Ali.

Keep pushing the statistics and overlooking the intangibles. It's why you're a clueless f.ucktard.
