Interesting...didn't know about his OBS work. That's great info you provide with the sales works. I see what you're saying but I still think he didn't reach his ceiling. Ugh Aikenite

The horse who had the outright fastest unblinkered 2 furlong work at OBS March this year already debuted - she debuted in a 4.5f MSW race at Woodbine last month.

Somehow went off at 15/1 odds (maybe because she's a Consolidator filly and the race had a lot of nice pedigrees for a Canada 2yo race - who knows) anyway, she goes wire-to-wire at 15/1 odds. Gets DQ'd - pays $16.00 to place - the horse who got put up took no money and I ended up losing every ticket. Didn't even have something on it to place.

I went on a tour of the entire building complaining about it and showing my tickets. Even went over to the HPBA office and back to the barns to get all the sympathy I could.

As stated above, Kantharos was never the type of horse who could ever be relevant beyond his 2-year-old summer. . . injury or not. How anyone could possibly expect him to get better with time is beyond me.

Of course it is...because you enjoy parroting DRF Formulator stats

That was the worst beat I've taken in a while. . . I had the exacta as a saver because I think the trainer of the eventual winner had good stats, but had everything weighted the other way and a big win bet. They're both running back in the stake on Saturday. The favorite from that race, who was bet off the board despite being trained by weak FTS trainer Bryan Lynch, is entered in a MSW a few races earlier.

I've had a few of my worst beats recently when I've been at the track with the laptop.

Pet peeve - and some of the DT Patriotic types won't like this - but I FUCl<ING HATE that they play the national anthem 30 minutes before the live racing up here. It's stupid as sh!t when a whole bunch of racing is going on. They had it timed last summer - where the national anthem would always start playing during the running of Saratoga's 8th race.

So, you have to stand up, take off your hat, and take your eyes away from the TV to stare at the flag in the infield. And sometimes - a guy at another table will call you out if you don't and try to make you feel like an Al Qadia loving jackass.

Anyway - I was having a total meltdown type day. And low and behold - national anthem time. So, I stand up and start walking to the bathroom with a look of disgust on my face - all the while shouting

"Kazakhstan is the greatest, country in the world!,
All other countries are run by little girls.,
Kazakhstan number one exporter of potassium,
all other countries have inferior potassium.
"

One of the cooler tellers - who I always bitch about the national anthem to - is laughing his ass off and shouts "what a jerk! Honor the flag!"

I love when all the old guys at the OTB get up for every playing of the national anthem at every track. . .

I never notice that around here. But, there are a few who act like you're commiting treason if you don't drop everything, stand up, take off your hat, and stare at the middle of the infield at 5PM.

They should play the thing at noon. Funny how they blare it upstairs in the dining room - but of course - in the table game section and slots parlor there is no anthem. Wouldn't want to distract the mindless zombies from their stupid ass machines.

How I've only manged a single meltdown during the national anthem over the course of about four years - is truly a testament to my laid back personality.

I'm pretty sure if you glare back at them, and confront them, they will leave you alone.

If that doesn't work, tell them you are visiting a friend, that you are from Guatemala, and you don't understand all the customs here. That where you are from, it's considered bad form to not pay attention to a race you have bet.

Better yet, during the anthem, chant Zenyatta over and over as loud as you can.

Where do I get some of this potassium?

Oh, and before I forget, how does it feel to have a bad beat?

I hit a superfecta for $3,600 for a buck on Derby day on a genuine mis-punch.

Stuff evens out for all of us - even you.

Hardly. Your good fortunes that have befallen you are truly legendary.

I assure you, the core group of people I routinely went to the track with, day in and day out, for well over 10 years, not one had even one stroke of luck of the type that is seemingly almost routine with you.

Personally, it took over twenty years of playing horses before I got put up in a DQ for the first time, as opposed to the dozens of times I was taken down. Of course, the one time it did happen, I was just fooling around as I put the last $3 in my Youbet account on some 7/2 shot.

You really should survey people at the track, or on here, and see just how rare accidental $3600 superfectas are.
