Aside from the surface, what I like about Churchill Downs and Belmont Park is the racetrack layout allows for fair races. The stretch at Del Mar is really short, and it changes the complexion of the race more than you think. But I'm a dork, and probably one of a few people who think about it like that.

I hate the thought of having it at Del Mar and although SA is my home track I'm just waiting for Belmont to host it again.
