It seems like the forensic evidence we got from bin Laden's compound: telephone numbers, computers, etc. - is promising and extended. That could prove more important to getting rid of terrorist plots against us than killing bin Laden alone.

Did anybody else notice this about Pakistan: we flew helicopters deep into their terrority, they didn't know about it, and they couldn't even muster an air defense response after 40 minutes?

Thankfully they couldn't, this had to be a consideration for the President and his advisers...guess they were aware of this weakness.

I know they said that is why they wanted the mission limited to 30 minutes (it took 35 or 40 I think having to go to plan B with the helicopter down) - but they had expected at least for air defense to be launched by that time. It wasn't that I've read?

No, there is no evidence that it was...of course there is a possibility that the "right people" were advised to stand down. This like other aspects of the presence of OBL in a luxury estate will come out much later if at all. I would like to give the government of Pakistan the benefit of the doubt due to the sensitive nature of the entire operation.

Is that why you and Riot are concerned about their response time from attack? By the U.S.A. ? Do you and Riot even have a clue how Paki men treat their women HERE in the USA?

No we're all too busy noticing Pakistan must have been harboring bin Laden.

This comment is almost as odd as 'she'll be OK' or 'Carter has a deep understanding'.

You are a bit off!

Whats odd about it? It's a statement of fact compared to an accusation yet unproven.

yea cause you and Riot believe in hope over fact.

BTW It's a fact we didn't let the Paki's know and they were forced to scramble jets because WE DIDN'T TRUST THEM! That's fact! And again why Riot and now your response are so odd IMO.

I wish you could understand the words other people write.

Yes, we didn't tell the Pakis were were there. That is the point. That is why I find it so odd that, after 30-40 minutes, they still had not mustered any response an air incursion over their territory, to their military academy.

You seem to confuse "hope" with "fact"...it's a fact they didn't muster a defense by scrambling their jets, it's pure conjecture they were harboring OBL.

they actually did scramble fighters as the special forces team was leaving. we contacted them and told them they were ours. and there's speculation we have some stealth capabilities here.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that! Stealth capability there would be awesome, indeed.

That would make sense, especially in light of the need to destroy the damaged blackhawk.
