Archarcharch. With a decent trip but it's also sentimental, Jinx Fires, son-in-law Jon Court and of course, Arkansas Derby winner.

Was gonna say Archarcharch but he seems a bit underlayed right now, going with Soldat. No Factor might help a little.

Thanks Miss Cat for starting this thread.
I’ve been really dialed into picking just one horse. I’m so excited and I didn’t even have a midnight interlude with a mucho macho man or anything like that, but even so, my pants are on fire. Go figure. I keep drinking water but it seems I’m staying thirsty anyway. Now I know a lot of the contenders are lacking brilliant speed this year, but it’s a decisive moment when you have to pick just one horse. I’ve been trying to pick just one horse for weeks now. I went fox hunting the other day which I have not done in ages. I wanted to go badly because my Uncle Mo is the Master of Hounds at my local hunt and he really knows thoroughbreds. When I asked him about the Derby, he said, “It’s a real animal kingdom out there this year”. Then he told me, “I swear on Anthony’s cross that I should have never soldat two year old I had last year ‘cause he had twice the appeal that any of these horses have that are going into the Derby”. The next thing you know, Uncle Mo yells, “watch me go”! And we’re off running through the fields again. As we were cantering along, I had trouble with my horse Toby trying to get him to turn a corner. My uncle could see I was having trouble because Toby took off galloping toward a bridge. It was a low bridge and my uncle yelled to me, “arch”! I yelled back “what”? My Uncle then yelled “arch, arch, arch! Low bridge, watch out for the low arch”. Well luckily I got Toby to slow down and my uncle caught up with me. I looked at my Uncle and said, “well, who do you like in the Derby?” My Uncle replied, “I kinda like Nehro, Santiva, and Comma to the Top”. I looked back at my Uncle and said, “you can only pick one horse”. |

Midnight Interlude. I know he's fighting history but it's a wide open race and he has the right trainer in his corner. Even when things didn't go as planned when Jaycito scratched this maiden winner stepped up big time to win the Grade I Santa Anita Derby. Granted it wasn't the strongest renewal but it was still a big jump and showed determination while bothered in the stretch. So this time Jaycito and The Factor take a seat I got this covered.
