OMG, GP really screwed up putting its Derby on Sunday!

The Sunday move was a good one from a PR standpoint. Going against the Final Four on Saturday was a lost cause, though this is still a tough weekend to get attention from the national media.

This is a good example of what I mean by people having no clue....

14K is stuffed to the gills at that place. That is why it will never have a BC.

No one bitched more than I about losing the old GP--but it is gone. The replacement building is a nice, neat and perfectly stupid facility (for horse racing at least) as far as I am concerned, but it is what it is and if it ever gets knocked down, I can assure you it won't be to replace it with another race track. So I take the improvements to the courses, hold my nose as to the facility itself and deal with the world as it is. What happens at Saratoga bears no relationship whatsoever to GP 2011.

My only compliant about that place is a lack of actual nice betting machines, slowness of the tote system (You would have thought they would have used fiber lines in that place considering it is the new thing), and the dumb ass tellers. The 3rd one is consistent with all tracks for the most part.

I absolutely loved the new Gulfstream, actually liked it better then the old one.

I certainly dont mind it as long as no more than 5000 people are there. I went once on FL derby day and stayed for maybe 15 minutes.

But the old Gulfstream was a million times better for horse racing. New place is better for slots and drinking.
