Some horses are always sweaty, and others who have seen Gio Ponti on a more regular basis have said he isn't one of those (I can't fully confirm that).
What was strange about his appearance this morning is that he did as much work, if not less, than others on the track at Meydan and still came off dripping. There wasn't another foreign runner who looked as gassed as Gio Ponti. It was about 70 degrees this morning and he galloped about 1.5 laps of the 9 furlong track in an easy way.
