Only way I can explain it is people are buying into that 'letdown' angle. These teams are as even as it gets.

To me, the only real factor that I take into account is that Rothleisberger (sp) has better weapons than Brady or Manning did. The Jets have proven they can win in hostile environments, the Ds are pretty close so why does Pitt have a better chance of beating the Jets than NE or Indy? It's that BR's supporting cast is better than the two the Jets beat previously.

I just don't agree. Reggie Wayne is better than anybody the Steelers have, and Garcon is no slouch either. And since when are Branch/Welker/Hernandez/Gronkowski/Edelman/etc. inferior to anyone? All I heard last week was how unstoppable that offense was, now it takes a backseat to Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown?

I still think Roethlisberger, Ward, Wallace, Miller and Mendenhall as a total are more solid than the same Top 5 of Indy or NE.

Maybe marginally. But they also have a patchwork offensive line, inferior to what the Colts and Pats had.

Wayne is slipping. He doesn't need to be doubled and he is no longer a threat to get deep. He will be 33 next year. At this point, Wallace is much more dangerous. Ward is much more physical even at this stage and a better inside target than any of those receivers you named. Garcon is a product of Peyton Manning as is Austin Collie or Tammie or anyone else they throw out there. Garcon is indeed a slouch.

Mendenhall is much better than either of those team's featured backs. This is a huge difference. Mendenhall is a threat to break it. Neither Green-Ellis nor Donald Brown is going to generate any kind of fear out of a d coodinator. Mendenhall is capable of carrying the offense by himself.

remember Troy P. didn't play last time AND Heth Miller didn't play last time. Miller was big because matt spaeth dropped TWO TD catches. aaron smith MIGHT also get some plays on defense. that would give the D and extra lift. the D is better when AS plays..

Polamalu sure didn't look so hot last week and from what I'm hearing he's still far from 100%. Tomlin has been clear that if Smith plays, it'll be in a limited role, and Miller's a nice player, but come on, Spaeth played well in that game. He didn't drop anything. The Jets broke up the last pass in the end zone and even if he caught it, he wasn't coming down in bounds.
